The 6′3″ (1.91m) forward/centre will join the Lynx on a short-term contract, replacing Han Xu during her period of unavailability due to national commitments.
Currently playing with the Indiana Fever in the WNBA, Turner has built a reputation as one of the league’s premier defenders. A WNBA All-Rookie Team selection in 2019 and two-time All-Defensive First Team honoree (2020, 2021), she also helped her team to a WNBA Commissioner’s Cup title and a 2025 semi final appearance.
Turner first burst onto the scene starring for Notre Dame, where she won the 2018 NCAA Championship and was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year three times. Known for her shot-blocking, rebounding and efficiency around the rim, she holds the Phoenix Mercury franchise record for most rebounds in a game (21) and is the first player in WNBA history to record 10+ points, 20+ rebounds, 5+ assists and 4+ blocks in a single game.
Turner also has experience playing in Australia, having previously played three stints with the Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL across the 2019-20, 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
Turner said she was excited to bring her game back to Australia.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the Perth Lynx and competing in the WNBL once again,” Turner said. “It’s a great opportunity to contribute to a strong team and experience basketball in a new environment. I’m ready to get to work and help the team start the season strong.”
Lynx head coach, Ryan Petrik, said Turner’s arrival would provide a major boost to the team’s early-season campaign.
“Brianna is a proven winner and one of the best defenders in the world,” Petrik said. “Her ability to protect the rim, rebound and lead by example will be huge for us. We’re excited to welcome her to Perth and can’t wait to see her in action.”
Turner joins the Lynx roster of Amy Atwell, Alex Ciabattoni, Alira Fotu, Steph Gorman, Tegan Graham, Anneli Maley, Yemiyah Morris, Kiara Waite, Ally Wilson and Han Xu.
The Lynx’s 2025-26 WNBL campaign gets underway this, Sunday, October 19, when they face the Adelaide Lightning at the SA State Basketball Centre.
