Atwell joined the Lynx prior to the 2022-23 WNBL season and quickly established herself as a key figure within the program. A standout season during 2023-24 – which ultimately led to Opals selection for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – saw her average 18.8 points per game throughout the season, and set a finals record with nine-three pointers in a single game. This impressive sharp-shooting saw Atwell named in the WNBL’s 2023-24 All-Star Second Team of the Year, as well as earned her the status of the second highest scorer in the 2023-24 Grand Final Series.
Atwell also served as co‑captain across the past two WNBL seasons, with her influence and leadership extending beyond the court, particularly throughout 2024-25, when she continued to play an important leadership role while working through her own return from injury. Atwell remained a consistent presence around the group, setting standards and supporting teammates throughout the campaign.
Perth Lynx General Manager, Chris Earl, thanked Atwell for her contribution to the club.
“Amy has been a much-valued leader and competitor for the Perth Lynx over the past four seasons,” Earl said. “Her commitment to the group, professionalism and willingness to lead had a meaningful impact on our program.”
“We thank Amy for everything she’s given the club and wish her all the best in the next stage of her career.”
