The Perth Lynx will officially step into the post-season on Saturday, as they prepare to take on the Bendigo Spirit in the best-of-three WNBL26 Semi Finals Series.
The Lynx will return home after a quick detour to Sydney for the WNBL26 Awards night, to hit the court at the Perth High Performance Centre, as they officially launch their finals campaign.
Taking their 18th win to close out the regular season, the Lynx dominated the Sydney Flames in Round 17 (108-93), with Amy Atwell (22 points, four rebounds) having another huge day out. A career best for Anneli Maley saw her secure her first triple-double (18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) - the first triple jackpot achieved across the WNBL26 season.
Fresh off a win, the Lynx will enter their first match of finals with vigour, ready to take on the Bendigo Spirit and hopefully get a hold of WNBL26 MVP, Izzy Borlase. With recently crowned Defensive Player of the Year, Han Xu, in tow, the Spirit will have to dig deep to establish themselves as front runners in this Semi Finals series, as the reigning Champions fight to defend their title against a fit and fighting Lynx line-up.
With the Lynx holding the upper hand in the teams' last two meetings, the group will back their ability to go 1-0 up in Saturday’s match. However, with WNBL26 Coach of the Year, Kennedy Kereama, guiding the Spirit squad through their finals campaign, the Bendigo team will be ready to fight until the final buzzer.
In a Semi Finals series which is sure to have both fans on the edge of their seats, the Lynx will look to land themselves in front for the first of three games, and to secure their fifth uninterrupted win to start their finals campaign off strong.
