The Perth Lynx will face the South Melbourne Flyers in front of their home crowd on Friday night, as Han Xu prepares to take the court in front of Lynx fans for the first time following her stunning WNBL debut last week.

After stepping onto the court against the Canberra Capitals with one big addition to the squad, the Lynx put up a tall performance, recoding a 67-91 win at the final buzzer. In a hotly-anticipated game for the Chinese basketball star's League debut, Han Xu did not disappoint.  The court dominator put an easy 22 points and two rebounds onto the scoreboard, not even a full week after touching down in Australia.

The Lynx produced a matchplay of nothing short of their best, with Amy Atwell (22 points, two rebounds) and Alex Ciabattoni (16 points, two rebounds) chipping away at the Capitals crew.

Preparing to take on the Flyers this week, the fourth-positioned team will be fighting fierce in attempt to knock Perth off their top 3 standing. With previous meetings between the two teams allowing both a taste of the win, the game will ultimately be determined by whichever team steps onto the court with the most fight on Friday night.

With the Lynx having a slightly more experienced and successful WNBL26 season to date, plus the addition of Han Xu since the teams last met, the Perth faithful will be backing their team heading their Round 8 match.

However, strong performances from the Flyer’s 2024 NBL1 South MVP Isabelle Bourne (28 points, three rebounds) and Australian Opals legend Cayla George (14 points, 13 rebounds) will pose a serious threat to the Lynx.

Don't miss your opportunity to catch Han Xu's first home game in Perth - get on down to Perth High Performance Centre tomorrow night and cheer on the mighty Perth Lynx.
