Perth Lynx is set to play on their home court at the Perth High Performance Centre for their only match of Round 5, taking on the League's reigning Champions in Bendigo Spirit.
Following a round which greeted Lynx with both victory and defeat, the squad will be ready to go for their first single-game round since Round 2. With four wins under their belt, and recently returned Australian Opal Ally Wilson in tow, the Lynx will be ready and raring to hand the Spirit their second loss for the season. Taking on the Southside Melbourne Flyers in Round 4, the Lynx played out an impeccable come-from-behind win, soaring to victory by three points (79-76). With Anneli Maley charging ahead - as is becoming a constant in the Lynx’s 2025-26 WNBL season - her tally of 20 points and 11 rebounds paired beautifully with Wilson’s 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Taking a significant loss against Geelong Venom (88-69) in their second match of the round on Tuesday, the defeat was softened by a standout performance from Amy Atwell, who tallied a massive 38 points and three rebounds across the round.
Bendigo Spirit will be coming in hot after a buzzer-beating win against the Canberra Capitals at home, with young-gun Izzy Borlase continuing to dominate the court with 25 points and three assists. With a strong season thus far, the Spirit will bring the heat on court, despite being at a disadvantage of having to perforce in front of a raucous Lynx home crowd.
A key matchup between the team’s stars Maley and Borlase will be one-to-watch, with Borlase leading her team for scoring (22 PPG) and Maley leading her team for rebounds (11.67 RPG). The match-up will be an exciting glimpse at what is to come for Round 6, where the teams will meet again in Traralgon as they bring their skills down to the regional court.
