The Perth Lynx’s first game of Round 4 will take place this Sunday, as they prepare to host the Southside Melbourne Flyers on their home court at Perth High Performance Centre. The two teams - who have each suffered only one defeat so far this season - with expertly packed squads, are sure to provide a huge contest in front of Lynx fans this weekend.

The Lynx had mixed fortunes during their two outings in Round 3, earning both a hard-fought win against the Geelong Venom (one point margin) on the road, and a defeat in their Tuesday home game against the Townsville Fire (70-79), whose win saw them overtake the Lynx at the top of the table. Despite the defeat, the Lynx squad fought hard against Townsville’s blistering start, despite missing Alex Ciabattoni (ankle injury) from the starting line-up, and losing Ally Wilson shortly after half time, after a broken nose dampened her 250th game celebrations.

The Southside Melbourne Flyers have so far soared through their season, falling short only once to concede a loss in their Round 1 court appearance. Their Round 3 victory saw the Flyers dominate the Townsville Fire (89-83), with an impeccable performance from Australian Opal, Cayla George, leaving the game with 26 points, 12 rebounds and three assists.

The Lynx’s Anneli Maley, who continues to tear up the court no matter if it’s at home or on the road, is as ready and raring to go as ever after tallying 21 points, 14 rebounds and two assists on last Tuesday night’s game. Ready to face any competition on her home court in Perth on Sunday, Maley will be put to the test by the Flyer’s Maddi Rocci, as the 3x WNBL champion took home 22 points and four rebounds last match.

With three wins under their belt already this season, the Lynx will have immense faith in their skill to guide them as they take the court, although will be sweating on the fitness of both Ciabattoni and Wilson to boost the depth of their game-day roster.
