The Perth Lynx will remain on the road for their second match of Round 15, as they prepare to take on the Southside Melbourne Flyers on Tuesday night at the Vic State Basketball Centre.
Leaving the Qudos Bank Arena with their 15th victory for the season, the Lynx are on the hunt to continue mastering their game plan as they inch closer to finals.
The third positioned Lynx - who took a 19-point win over the Sydney Flames this weekend - didn’t falter despite Chinese star Han Xu’s late withdrawal due to injury, with Alex Ciabattooni (16 points, six rebounds, five assists) and Anneli Maley (13 points, 16 rebounds) allowing the team to land ahead at the final buzzer.
The Flyers will pose a challenge to the Lynx as they meet in Victoria to close out Round 15, as we see the third and fourth positioned teams go head-to-head. With the Flyers arguably in the box seat to secure the final position in the post-season, they will be fighting harder than ever to secure their finals position.
After falling to top-of-the-table Townsville Fire by only three points (78-75) on Saturday, the Flyers are in fit and fighting form, with Izzy Borne (19 points, nine rebounds) and Maddy Rocci (15 points, 10 assists) doing their bit to keep the squad in finals contention.
In a difficult battle on what is set to be a scorching hot summer’s day, the Lynx will look to replicate their wins over the Flyers in their last two meetings. However, with the Flyers digging deep to keep their foot in the finals ring, the matchup will be one to watch.
