After three consecutive games on their home court, the Perth Lynx are back on the road again, as they venture across the country to our nation’s capital, preparing to take on the Canberra Capitals at AIS Arena.

After taking the win over the Caps last time the teams met only two weeks ago (75-49), the freshly-minted 2nd-ranked Lynx are now on the hunt for their eighth uninterrupted victory.

However, despite the two sides currently being on different ends of the ladder, the game will be a tough ask for the Lynx, with less than 48 hours and over 3,500 kilometres between both of their Round 12 encounters.

Embracing a fiery start to the new year, the Lynx held the upper hand in their first match of Round 12, dominating the contest to take an 18-point win over the Adelaide Lightning on Friday.

A masterclass of talent, the Lynx squad rallied to put on a show for their home crowd, with massive scoreboard additions from Alex Ciabattoni (25 points, four assists), Amy Atwell (16 points), Ally Wilson (15 points, six rebounds, five assists) and 150th gamer Anneli Maley, who yet again took a double-double with 18 points, 15 rebounds and six assists.

With the Lynx team heading towards finals season looking bigger and better than ever, having well and truly evolved beyond their Round 6 slump, their second Round 12 match against the 5th positioned Caps will provide yet another opportunity to hone in on their match day performance.

The Caps, falling behind the Sydney Flames by 30 points in their Round 11 efforts, were buoyed by dynamic duo Nyadiew Puoch and Zitina Aokuso, allowing the team to keep some skin in the game. The two will pose a threat to the Lynx despite their current seemingly-unstoppable offensive play.

With Caps captain Jade Melbourne out due to injury, the group may struggle to hold their own against a formidable Lynx line-up, but also - no one travels to Canberra not expecting a fight.
