Perth Lynx will take on Adelaide Lightning in Adelaide this weekend, followinga monumental victory against the Townsville Fire last round, knocking them off from their top-of-the-table standing.
In a magnificent four quarters of game play, the Lynx picked apart the Fire, with all hands on deck to take home a 16-point win (81-97) at the final buzzer.
A total on-court domination, Han Xu had her best match on home soil to date, producing a massive 28 points and 13 rebounds. Following closely behind, the Lynx line-up was formidable, with Alex Ciabattoni (21 points, five rebounds, five assists), Ally Wilson (19 points, four rebounds, five assists), and Anneli Maley (11 points, 15 rebounds) all shining on the court.
Meanwhile, the Lightning fell to the Bendigo Spirit in their first outing of Round 10, with the too-strong reigning champs holding off the Adelaide team by eight points (75-67). Strong gameplay from Sharne Robati, Steph Talbot and Sania Feagin - each notching 16 points onto the scoreboard - was not enough to knock their opposition’s spirit.
Taking the win over Lightning when they last met in Round 8, the Lynx will be on the hunt to notch a fourth uninterrupted win onto their belts, with Han Xu’s addition to the team proving to be the perfect addition to bolster the Lynx line-up.
After snatching away the Fire’s seven game winning streak, the Lynx will be up for the challenge away from their home court on Sunday night, as they attempt to lengthen their own streak of three consecutive victories.
