Perth Lynx are pleased to announce that Ryan Petrik has been re-appointed as the club’s Head Coach on a new multi‑year contract, continuing his long‑standing connection with the club and reaffirming his position as one of the WNBL’s most respected coaching figures.

Petrik has led the Lynx to three WNBL Grand Final Series appearances in the past five years, guiding Perth to the 2022, 2024 and 2026 Championship deciders during a period that has been widely considered one of the strongest competitive windows in club history.

While the club has endured several heartbreakingly narrow defeats throughout this era, the Lynx remain steadfast in their belief that Petrik is the right person to convert their consistent contention into the breakthrough that has eluded them.   Petrik’s re‑appointment reflects the club’s commitment to stability, culture and the long‑term vision needed to secure the program’s next Championship.

Perth Lynx General Manager, Chris Earl, said Petrik’s re‑signing was a decision grounded in performance, leadership and belief.

“Ryan has repeatedly shown that he can build a program capable of challenging for Championships.  His record over the past five years in particular - guiding us to three Grand Final Series appearances - demonstrates not only his tactical strengths, but his ability to unite, develop and inspire this group.  We firmly believe that Ryan is the coach to take us forward and ultimately deliver the Championship success we are striving for.”

Petrik said he was honoured for the opportunity to continue leading a program he deeply values.

“I’m grateful for the trust this club has placed in me, and proud of what our group continues to build,” Petrik said. “While we’ve enjoyed sustained success on the court over a number of years, winning the final game of the season remains a major focus for us. At the same time, the club continues to go from strength to strength off the court, and I’m excited about what lies ahead.”

The Lynx have so far confirmed Alex Ciabattoni, Steph Gorman, Nya Lok, Anneli Maley, Teige Morrell and Sami Whitcomb as players already locked into the Perth Lynx roster for the WNBL27 season.
