Lynx head coach, Ryan Petrik, said he was thrilled to see the trio join the squad, with each bringing unique strengths and potential to the Lynx environment.
“Jaya was involved in the program last year, and has a really good understanding of what we do, so she picks things up really well,” Petrik said. “She’s a really good on-ball defender who works hard, and has earned her chance.”
Wier also returns to the Lynx setup after previously training with the team.
“She’s another guard who’s been with us previously as a train-on,” Petrik added. “She’s a small but quick guard that can get to top speed very quickly, and can get up and in on defence.”
Joining the squad as an Amateur Development Player is rising WA prospect in Gayo, who has already made a strong impression on the coaching staff.
“Kuir is an up-and-coming big in WA, and one of the talents I’ve been most excited about during my entire time with the program,” Petrik continued. “Physically, she’s really tall and athletic, and it feels like she gets 5% better every single day. She has major ‘X factor’ energy about her.”
The Lynx’s 2025-26 WNBL campaign gets underway this Sunday, October 19, when they face the Adelaide Lightning at the SA State Basketball Centre.
