Both Atwell and Maley return to the leadership role after guiding the team through a successful 2024-25 campaign, where the team finished second in the standings before bowing out to eventual Grand Finalists – Townsville Fire – in the playoffs.
Atwell, known for her elite shooting and calm presence under pressure, has earned the respect of teammates and coaches alike for her consistency and professionalism.
“It’s a huge honour to lead this group again,” Atwell said. “We’ve built something really special here, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward with Anneli and the team.”
Meanwhile, Maley brings unmatched energy and passion to the court, with her relentless work ethic and vocal leadership setting the tone for the Lynx.
“Being named co-captain again means the world to me,” Maley said. “This team is like family, and I’m proud to help drive our culture and compete at the highest level.”
Perth Lynx General Manager, Chris Earl, said the decision to retain the club’s co-captains reflects the its desire for continuity and strong leadership as it enters a new era.
“Amy and Anneli are outstanding leaders who embody what the Perth Lynx stand for,” Earl said. “As we move into a new chapter for the club, having that stability at the top is invaluable. They’ve earned the trust of the playing group and will continue to set the standard on and off the court.”
The Lynx tip-off their 2025-26 season this weekend, when they travel to Adelaide to take on the Lightning.
