Key piece added to Perth frontcourt for WNBL27

The 6'5" forward joins the Lynx after being selected by the Toronto Tempo with pick No. 22 in the 2026 WNBA Draft, where she is part of a program led by Australian Opals Head Coach, Sandy Brondello.

Before turning professional, Key spent two seasons at Kentucky after beginning her collegiate career at North Carolina.  The now 23-year-old established herself as one of the Southeastern Conference's premier defensive players during her collegiate career. In her final season, Key averaged a career-high 11.4 points per game and finished inside the top 10 in the conference for blocks per game across two consecutive seasons, helping lead Kentucky to a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Key said she was looking forward to joining the Lynx and continuing her development in the WNBL.

"I'm incredibly excited to be joining the Perth Lynx for the upcoming season," Key said.

"I've heard great things about the organisation and the WNBL, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue growing my game in such a competitive league.

"I can't wait to get to Perth, meet my teammates and coaches, and play in front of the Lynx fans. I'm looking forward to bringing energy, defence and doing whatever I can to help the team be successful."

Perth Lynx Head Coach, Ryan Petrik, said Key's combination of size, athleticism and potential made her an exciting addition to the roster.

"Teonni is an exciting young talent with a very bright future," Petrik said.

"At 6'5", she brings great size, mobility and rim protection, and we're excited about what she can add to our frontcourt.  She's already gained valuable experience in a WNBA environment as a rookie with Toronto and we're excited about what she can bring to our group."

Key joins Georgia Amoore, Samantha Ashby, Alex Ciabattoni, Steph Gorman, Nya Lok, Anneli Maley, Teige Morrell and Haley Peters as players already locked into the Perth Lynx roster for the WNBL27 season.
